ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dianna Shyne nwws
Multiple award winning artist, Dianna Shyne infuses her paintings
with a sense of vitality and life affirming joy.
Pursuing her passion for art, Dianna Shyne has spent thirty years working in
acrylic, oil and watercolor. She studied 15 years with renowned
Russian Impressionist teachers including Ron Lukas, William Reese and Del Gish.
Richly textured surfaces, compelling compositions, and dynamic color interplay
form the basis of Dianna’s unique style. Recent painting trips to the
Yunnan Province of China, Prince Edward Island, Maine and Tuscany
have provided rich painting material for her work for many years to come.
Dianna has exhibited her work in over 40 solo and two person exhibitions,
and won more than a dozen top National awards, Including first place in
The Artist’s Magazine 2013 all media competition. Her work is included in
articles in many local and National publications including
The Artist Magazine and Watercolor Magic as well as Northlight Books.
Her painting “Americana” was featured in the 2013 edition of
“Acrylic Works the Best of Acrylic painting” published by Northlight Books.
Dianna has also given classes and demonstrations locally, around the country
and in Canada, Italy and China. She is currently teaching classes around Washington
To Dianna, teaching is a joy as well as an art. Conveying not only theoretical art
concepts but also delving into the deeper issues of creativity and the ongoing artistic
journey, Dianna’s classes are both informative and inspirational.
Dianna Shyne is a member of Women Painters of Washington
and a signature member and past president of the
Northwest Watercolor Society.
From luminous dripping washes to impasto palette knife and
painterly brush strokes, Dianna’s paintings tap into her Russian Impressionist
training to evoke the passage of light and unspoken emotion.
The artist currently lives in Washington State and paints in her studio on Camano
Island overlooking a small bay on the Puget Sound.
